DESCRIPTION: Circus Circus Hotel, Casino and Theme Park was the first property
of what has become Mandalay Resort Group, a corporation that currently owns or
has interest in 11 gaming properties nationwide. First publicly traded on the
New York Stock Exchange in 1983, the corporation today controls more hotel rooms
in Las Vegas than any of its competitors. The hallmark of Circus Circus lies
under the legendary Big Top, where the world’s greatest circus acts perform on
the Midway Stage. The Adventuredome at Circus Circus is America’s largest indoor
theme park. The mega-resort has 3,773 guest rooms, the 399-space Circusland
recreational vehicle park, a wedding chapel, four swimming pools, four
restaurants and the world famous Circus Buffet.
PROPERTY: Situated on 68.30 acres, the buildings encompass 2,870,085 square
feet.
Casino Tower: Two 15-story hotel towers with 776 guest rooms, which were fully
renovated in 1998. Situated in the center of the property, the Casino Tower
features two casinos, a race and sports book, circus arena, carnival midway,
game arcade, multiple dining facilities, wedding chapel and retail outlets. The
Midway Stage is located above the main casino on the midway mezzanine, and is
featured in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s largest permanent
circus covering an area of 120,000 square feet, capped by a 90-foot Big Top.
Skyrise Tower: A 29-story tower with 1,188 guest rooms includes its own casino,
pool and connection to the shopping Promenade.
West Tower: The 35-story tower with 999 guest rooms was added in 1997. The West
Tower is the center of property, featuring a luxurious new hotel lobby, shopping
Promenade and dining facilities. The West Tower Promenade also serves as gateway
to Circus Circus’ indoor theme park, The Adventuredome.
Circus Circus Manor: Five three-story buildings with 810 guest rooms, pool and
convenient motor lodge style parking.
The Adventuredome: America's largest indoor theme park opened on August 23,
1993. Over 20 million people have visited The Adventuredome, which is fully
enclosed by 8,615 panes of glass. Each pane weighs over 300 pounds.
Circusland RV Park: The Park features 399 spaces located on a 38.8 acres site.
Circusland also contains a 24-hour convenience store, game arcade, coin operated
laundry facilities, pool, Jacuzzi, saunas, playground, pet runs, disposal
stations and a large meeting room.
Clown Marquee: Lucky, the Laughing Clown, standing 123 feet tall and 65 feet
wide, is located in front of the Casino Tower on The Strip.
ROOMS: Circus Circus Las Vegas has 3,773 rooms. 3,638 are standard rooms and 135
are suites. Suites are available in different configurations including our 2,660
square-foot, premium multi-level hospitality suite with up to seven adjoining
bedrooms, 14 Parlor suites, 11 Jacuzzi suites, two Jacuzzi Parlor suites and
mini-suites. Standard rooms are in 460 square-foot floor plans with air
conditioning, color television with pay channels and direct dial phones. 2,149
non-smoking rooms (most on non-smoking floors), 45 hearing impaired rooms and
122 wheelchair accessible rooms. Room service is available 24-hours per day.
DINING: The Steak House: Voted “Best Steak House" by the Las Vegas
Review-Journal Reader’s Poll more than a decade. In 1996 the prestigious Zagat
Survey judged restaurants in Las Vegas for the first time. The Steak House has

Circus Buffet: It has been said the Circus Buffet is the busiest buffet in the
world. Since its $9.5 million total renovation was completed in 1998, the four
serving lines average 8,000 customers per day. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m.
to 11:30 a.m. Dinner is served from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

There are over 101,286 square feet of gaming space located in three full-size
casinos. Guests can try their luck on 2,255 slot machines, including video
poker, keno and 21. Gaming tables offer 53 Blackjack tables, 4 Craps tables, 7
Roulette tables, 1 Big Six game, 4 Pai Gow Poker tables, 1 Caribbean Stud Poker
tables, 2 Let It Ride games, 1 Casino War game and 10 Poker tables.
Keno provides a 160-seat lounge on the main level of the Casino Tower as well as
a full Race and Sports Book with a seating area featuring individual television
sets to monitor sporting events.
Circus Circus provides personal gaming lessons for those guests who would like
to learn how to play table games. Lessons are held in the Main Casino Monday
through Friday, excluding holidays, at the following times: Blackjack 10:30

ATTRACTIONS:
The Adventuredome is America’s largest indoor theme park and features 21 rides
and attractions, including the world’s only indoor double-loop, double-corkscrew
roller coaster, The Canyon Blaster. Other top attractions include Chaos, a
thrill ride that whirls its riders in three ranges of motion. The speed and
intensity of motion provides a totally unpredictable ride every time. There is
also the Rim Runner boat ride, which boasts a 60-foot water plunge and the IMAXÒ
RIDEFILMÔ Cineplex currently showing Fun House Express and our newest film:
ReBoot-The Ride, which will take you on a journey through cyberspace.
The Adventuredome was the first theme park in Las Vegas when it opened on August
23, 1993 and it welcomed its 20 millionth visitor in November 2001. The park is
open daily year-round and maintains a constant temperature of 72 degrees.
The Adventuredome has many attractions suitable for younger children including a
traditional Carousel, bumper cars, midway games, clown shows and arcade games.
There are numerous other rides where parents can accompany their children, or
they can watch from within camera range.
In 2001, The Adventuredome was ranked 15th in visitor volume among North
American theme parks by industry bible, Amusement Business magazine. Amusement
Business also ranked the Adventuredome 25th in visitor volume among all theme

In 1998 Circus Circus opened its shopping district, The Promenade. Set among
cobblestones in a European motif, The Promenade features fashionable apparel
from Marshall Rousso; collectibles and memorabilia from Celebrity Sport Arena;
Circus Kids for children’s clothing and merchandise; Nothing But Clowns is
filled with clowns of all shapes and sizes; Ethel Mâ Chocolates has your
favorite gifts, the Sweet Tooth has confections and ice cream of all kinds; and
many other fun and interesting outlets.
ENTERTAINMENT:
Since 1968 many of the world’s greatest circus acts have plied their craft under
the famed Circus Circus Big Top. Performers from around the globe have made this
the world’s largest permanent circus. Acts perform twice each hour on the Midway
Stage from 11 a.m. to midnight daily. Visitors are treated to dazzling
aerialists, trapeze artists, clown comedy shows and much more. Surrounding the
stage is a huge carnival midway where players can win large, plush stuffed
animals by participating in a variety of traditional games.
WEDDING CHAPEL:
Circus Circus houses the original and longest-running hotel-casino wedding
chapel in Las Vegas: the Chapel of the Fountain. A recently completed renovation
has given the venerable chapel a fresh new look. Thousands of brides and grooms
have declared their vows in this quaint and picturesque chapel. The chapel
features in-house photographers, videographers and florists to ensure the high
quality for which the Chapel of the Fountain is known.
CIRCUSLAND RECREATIONAL VEHICLE PARK
Circusland recreational vehicle park is the only one of its kind on the Las
Vegas Strip. featuring 399 spaces with full hook-ups, Circusland also has its
own pool that was renovated in 1997, a general store filled with provisions and
camping accessories, a 12-machine electronic game arcade, a playground, a pool
table and a large meeting room.

Mandalay Resort Group
1968 - On October 18, Circus Circus celebrates the grand opening of its
casino located on the Las Vegas Strip. The property consists of a casino, circus
arena, carnival midway and restaurants under a permanent Big Top facade. Circus
Circus does not offer hotel rooms.
1972 - Circus Circus’ first hotel, a 15-story Casino Tower with 400 guest rooms,
is completed.
1974 - Assumption of operation by William G. Bennett and William N. Pennington.
1975 - 395 guest rooms are added to the original Casino Tower in May for a total
of 795 rooms.
1978 - Circus Circus Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nev., opens on July 1 with 104
rooms and the same architectural and entertainment concepts as the Las Vegas
property.
A five-story parking garage with 1,000 spaces is completed at Circus Circus Las
Vegas.
1979 - Circusland recreational vehicle park is completed with 421 spaces. Full
utility 50-amp hookups, swimming pools, Jacuzzi, saunas, 24-hour convenience
store, fenced tots’ playground, pet runs, on-site disposal station, game arcade,
Laundromat and grass areas are available.
Acquisition of Slots-A-Fun Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, immediately adjacent
to Circus Circus.
1980 - Circus Circus Manor rooms open adjacent to Circus Circus Las Vegas near
Circusland RV Park with 810 rooms in five 3-story buildings. Parking areas for
each building, in-room kitchenettes, its own swimming pool and lobby.
1981 - Inauguration of space age Circus Sky Shuttle, linking major areas of the
Las Vegas resort. Dual pink and white air conditioned cabins glide along an
elevated guide-way spanning Circus Circus Drive 18 feet above street level. Sky
Shuttle can carry up to 1,200 passengers per hour. Fully automated, pollution
free, energy saving and quiet.
Acquisition of Silver City Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, approximately 1/4 mile
south of Circus Circus. The exterior has been totally redesigned and interior
expanded and remodeled.
Opening of 22-story addition to Circus Circus Reno, for a total of 725 rooms and
suites.
1982 - Completion of $7 million expansion and renovation at Circus Circus Las
Vegas, including enlarged casino, dining and valet parking facilities, interior
decoration, and a new front entrance marquee.
1983 - Circus Circus Enterprises, Inc., becomes publicly traded on the New York
Stock Exchange.
Acquisition of Edgewater Hotel and Casino on the Colorado River in Laughlin, Nev.
1984 - Completion in July of 450 new rooms at the Edgewater for a total of 600
rooms, as well as complete exterior and interior renovation, including expanded
casino area. New facilities include a race and sports book.
1985 - A second 1,000-car high-rise parking garage is completed at Circus Circus
Las Vegas.
Construction begins on the 1,188 rooms, 29-story Skyrise Tower at Circus Circus
Las Vegas. Topping off ceremony takes place on September 25.
Opening of new West Casino at Circus Circus Las Vegas adds 17,000 square feet of
gaming space along with a new bar and snack bar.
July opening of 27-story Skyway Tower at Circus Circus Reno, for a total of
1,625 rooms and suites.
Announcement of plans to build a second resort in Laughlin, Nev., with an
authentic replica of a three-deck Mississippi paddle wheeler, to be called the
Colorado Belle.
1986 - Grand opening of the Circus Circus Skyrise Tower at Circus Circus Las
Vegas on February 28. It features bars, dining areas, a swimming pool, a third
high-rise garage, a 10,000 square-foot race and sports book and a 17,000
square-foot casino making the resort the largest casino in the world with over
100,000 square feet of gaming space. A new arm of the Circus Sky Shuttle is
added as is the Circus Skywalk, a link to the Skyrise Tower and the Big Top.
Ground-breaking for the Colorado Belle on March 28th.
1987 - The 1,238-room Colorado Belle is topped off on March 26. Grand opening is
held on July 1.
1988 - On April 1 Circus Circus Enterprises acquires 117 acres of Las Vegas
Strip land, 70 acres of which will become designated the site for a unique
castle-themed resort that will become the world’s largest hotel with 4,032
rooms. The resort-to-be was officially dubbed Excalibur on September 28
following an international $25,000 “Name the Castle” contest, which drew more
than 183,000 entries.
Ground-breaking ceremonies for the Excalibur are held on October 7.
1989 - Ground-breaking for the new 26-story Edgewater Hotel and Casino in
Laughlin, Nev., occurs on December 1. Includes a new six- story, 954-car parking
garage.
1990 - Grand opening of Excalibur Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip on
June 19. Excalibur becomes the world’s largest hotel.
1991 - Grand opening is held on February 8 for the new 970-room 26-story
Edgewater Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, Nev.
Circus Circus Enterprises announces plans on November 14 for construction of a
new pyramid-shaped resort in Las Vegas to be named the Luxor. The unusual
2,526-room hotel adjacent to the Circus-owned Excalibur, will use “inclinators”
as opposed to elevators because of the pyramid shape. Luxor will emphasize the
mystical qualities of ancient pyramids, and will be another first of its kind on
the Las Vegas Strip.
1992 - Ground-breaking for Luxor on March 16; opening slated for October 1993.

1995 - The acquisition of Gold Strike Resorts is completed on June 1. Circus
Circus Enterprises acquires ownership or partnership interest in the Railroad
Pass Hotel and Casino in Henderson, Nev., and the Nevada Landing Hotel and
Casino and the Gold Strike Hotel and Casino, both in Jean, Nev. Circus Circus
Enterprises announces a joint venture with Mirage Resorts to build a new Las
Vegas Strip resort, the Monte Carlo.
Ground-breaking for the Monte Carlo is held on April 19, a joint venture between
Mirage Resorts and Circus Circus Enterprises. Grand opening is scheduled for the
first day of summer in 1996, June 21.
Grand opening of The Silver Legacy, another joint-venture between the Eldorado
Hotel and Casino in Reno, Nev., and Circus Circus Enterprises. The Reno-based
resort features 1,720 rooms set in an Old West atmosphere.
Circus Circus Enterprises finalizes its purchase of the Hacienda Hotel and
Casino in Las Vegas for $80 million and assumes operation on September 1.
Monte Carlo topping-off ceremony held on December 20.
1996 - Construction begins in January on the new West Tower for Circus Circus
Las Vegas. This will add 999 rooms, additional restaurants and shops to the
venerable Strip property. Additional renovations taking place include
re-carpeting and re-painting of the casino and midway areas and remodeling of
the Casino Tower. Phase I of construction is scheduled for completion by the end
of 1996.
Construction begins for the addition of 2,000 rooms to the Luxor on January 1.
Plans announced for a joint venture with Mirage Resorts on an Atlantic City
project.
Circus Circus Enterprises announces a joint venture with Four Seasons Regent
Hotels on June 17. Plans are unveiled to build a 400-room Four Seasons luxury
hotel in 1998 as part of the Circus “Master-plan Mile.”
Grand opening of the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip takes
place on June 21.
Circus Circus topps off its 35-story West Tower on September 25.
Grand opening of the West Tower at Circus Circus Las Vegas occurs on December
23. Featuring a centralized hotel lobby at the base of the new tower, which
includes guest check in and a 40,000 square-foot shopping district called The
Promenade. The Promenade also provides convenient access to the Skyrise Tower
and serves as the new gateway entrance to The Adventuredome.
Partial opening of the two new 1,000-room towers, completing Phase I of the
Luxor remodel.
Implosion party is held for the 40-year-old Hacienda Hotel and Casino on the Las
Vegas Strip at 9p.m. on December 31 on national television. Plans are unveiled
at the party for Project Paradise, a 4,000-room mega-resort to be built on the
former Hacienda site. This tropical-themed luxury resort to be built next to the
Luxor, will connect to a 400-room Four Seasons Hotel.
1997 - Circus Circus Las Vegas opens 8,000 square feet of banquet and meeting
facilities in the Skyrise Tower, and renovation of the Casino Tower is
completed.
Circus Circus Enterprises is selected to be one of three gaming companies
allowed to build a casino in downtown Detroit, Mich.
The Adventuredome at Circus Circus opens its newest attraction in May, Fun House

1998 - Project Paradise becomes Mandalay Bay in an unveiling ceremony of Circus
Circus Enterprises newest Las Vegas Strip property on February 18. The $950
million South Seas-themed hotel will be a 3,700-room luxury destination resort
set on 60 acres next to the Luxor. The Four Seasons Hotel will occupy the floors
from 35 to 39 and have its own entrance, check-in, dining, pool and convention
area. The project is scheduled to open in early 1999.
Circus Circus Enterprises and the House of Blues announce a partnership on
April 29. A House of Blues will open inside Mandalay Bay featuring a live music
venue and a 600-seat restaurant
1999- Opened Mandalay Bay in April. The $1 billion mega-resort added 3,700 rooms
to the Las Vegas corridor. The South Seas themed property also added an 11-acre
tropical lagoon with a sand-and-surf beach, lazy river ride, a swim-up shark
tank, 15 outstanding restaurants, nightclubs, a showroom, a 12-seat arena and
100,000 square-feet of convention space.
Circus Circus Enterprises, Inc., shareholders approve company name change to
Mandalay Resort Group's stock symbol changed to MBG.
MotorCity opens in Detroit. Mandalay Resort Group has a 53% interest in and
operates MotorCity.
2000- The Adventuredome at Circus Circus opens its newest attraction in April,
ReBoot: The Ride. The multi-million dollar ride is an IMAXÒ RIDEFILMÔ, which
utilizes state-of-the-art motion simulator technology. The Adventuredome
welcomes its 15 millionth visitor in April 2000. Amusement Business magazine
ranks The Adventuredome 18th in visitor volume among North American theme parks,
and 34th in visitor volume among all theme parks in the world.
The hotel opens its newest restaurant, a Mexican eatery called Blue Iguana Las
Vegas. Other property enhancements for the year include a new swimming pool, new
paint, carpet and seating area on the Midway, and new carpet in all the public
areas of the hotel.
2001 – Amusement Business Magazine has ranked The Adventuredome 19th in
attendance among theme parks in North America and 34th when considering every
theme park in the world with 2.9 million visitors.
The Adventuredome opens its 19th attraction, a spinning thrill ride called
Chaos.
In November, The Adventuredome welcomed its 20 millionth visitor to the theme
park since opening in 1993.
